Step 1

This works because you don’t have to bring your hips all the way around, making it less scary, but by pretending the bench is still there you train yourself to lift your hips higher for the next step

Step 2

Here you practice clearing the first part of the spin by landing on the platform, and while your hips don’t need to go as high yet, lifting them builds good habits for the full movement.

Step 3

Starting on the seat gives you height, so clearing is easier, and rotating three-quarters of the way builds towards the full motion with added safety.

Step 4

Starting elevated makes clearing easier, and by lifting your hips higher and adding an extra 180° at the end, you turn the move into a full spin with extra style.

Step 5

Starting on the corner gives you a level takeoff and elevated landing, letting your feet brace for stability while you practice the full spin.

Step 6

The final move.

Palm Spin

A palm spin in parkour is a vaulting move where you place both hands on an obstacle (like a rail, wall, or ledge), kick your legs up, and rotate your body 360° around your planted palms. Your hands stay in contact with the surface as your body spins over and around it, and you land back on the same side or the opposite side, depending on the variation.

Step 6

This step goes all the way around with the extra spin from step 4. It builds the full motion while adding style to the finish. Make sure you can clear an invisible extended bench before going onto the final product so you don’t clip your feet on the full move.
